Chapter 5

Holly's eyes widened, "really?!"

"Yes, sweetie. Really," Dyten told her.

Holly looked at the floor with a puzzled look, "but what about your girlfriend? Weren't you getting married?"

Dyten breathed in, and blew out forcefully. Tough question. Tough age. Almost 8, a dangerous age to say anything because of curiosity, logic, and inability to understand many things. "Yes, we were. Are. I... Holly, I don't know anymore. It's hard, having your mother here again. It's been very confusing for me."

"It's okay, daddy."

As Dyten swept Holly into another, very daddy-like hug, he turned his face away to hide a tear running down his cheek.

"Stay and play awhile, dad! I missed you," Holly pouted.

"It's late, Holly. I still have to take care of Tara," he replied.

"Please?" How could he say no to that face?

He stared at his daughter for a second, "ten minutes."

Across the hallway, a blue figure had appeared before me. The force of her appearance knocked me down, and for a second I was dazed.

"Hello, Tara," she said to me. She had a deep voice. It was very familiar.

I opened my mouth to speak, yell, something, even gibberish. Nothing came out. Not a sound.

She laughed, "I knew you would try to get his attention, so I took your voice for a little while. Don't worry, you'll get it back. As if you could use it, anyway."

I glared at her.

She glared back.

The energy around her faded and she went silent. Instinctively, I sent a message to her with my mind. It hurt my head. I didn't know how I did it, but it seems there are many things I don't really know about myself yet.

"Don't play with me, girl. You're just a mortal. I could destroy you."

I stared at her blank eyes.

"I don't think I will bring you back. Not yet. I don't care what Thae says, you're not ready to come back. But remember, sloth, Aquarinia will be back for you."

The blue energy came back around her and enveloped her, and she was gone. Well, at least I knew where I got the energy from. But what about my eyes?

"Mmm.." I grumbled, getting up. Wait, I had my voice back. "Dy.. ten! Dyten!" I managed.

But then I realized I didn't know how to tell him what just happened.

Dyten quickly came into the room, "Tara? What is it?" he asked worriedly.

I sighed. Instead of throwing myself into a useless fit, I decided to just hug him, and pretend I missed him.

When I felt his warmth come around me I realized I really had missed him, even if I didn't realize it.

"Aww, Tara..." I heard him breath. "Here, let's get you into some something to sleep in. Why do you look so sad?"

He pulled me towards the dresser. When I looked inside, all I saw was lace. Black lace. Lots of frills, and see-through things that I didn't think I'd ever sleep in. He awkwardly looked at me.

"Erm, let's see if I can find something more appropriate..."

He dug around for a couple of minutes, finally pulling out something that I thought I might like to try on.

It felt as if it were made for me. We stood in front of the mirror for what seemed like hours, until he started kissing my neck... All thoughts of everything that had happened today disappeared. I loved every moment of being with him. It all felt so right.

So very right.

Chapter 4

*Note* Before doing this chapter, I had to delete a lot of CC from my game because it wouldn't load. Therefore, there were some things missing, causing me to go a certain way in the story, and changing the decor. The decor changes were only minor. Thank you for understanding. I think the change was for the better and helped me get going.****

When I was escorted to my room by Dyten, he was not dressed in his usual labcoat. Instead, he was donning a nice suit. He took something out of my dresser.

"Here, put this on," he told me.

Grateful to be wearing something different than this sticky, tight outfit, I took the clothing immediately. Dyten stayed by the door to make sure no one came in.

When I had the dress on, I looked at Dyten for acceptance. I wanted to look nice. Desperately, I wanted to look nice for him.

He looked at me with sad eyes. "Oh, Tara..." he said, "I've missed you..."

I went towards him. He looked like he was ready to cry, and I wanted to help this time.

He looked up at me, "Tara, I'm taking you somewhere. I have permission from Nicholas to bring you somewhere outside the facility. I have to warn you, it's dangerous. Once we get there, you'll be staying there awhile... Okay?"

I nodded, confused. I was happy to be leaving, though. I didn't want to be treated badly by these people anymore. Especially not Calina... She had given me a horrible look on my way up here.

He took my hand. "Let's go."

On our way outside the facility, he was secretive, and anxious. He kept looking around, making sure no one was watching. I started wondering if he would bring me back. Not that I wanted to come back, but it would be nice if I could see Mary, again. I also wondered if I would ever be able to talk again.

When we got outside a nice, black car was waiting for me. He opened a door for me, and gestured for me to get in. I did, and off we went. I was shaking. Where are we going?

We pulled up to an expensive-looking house.

I followed him inside and up some stairs, and soon heard footsteps. They were running. I became nervous when I realized whoever it was was coming towards us, but Dyten didn't seem scared. He looked happy.

I was still staring at him when I heard, "DADDY!"
I looked over and saw a child.

"There's my favorite little girl," he said happily. "And where is your nanny?"

"She went to the store, we didn't know you were coming home! I missed you so much!"

"I know you did, sweetheart," Dyten said.

I didn't know why I started crying. I didn't feel sad, I felt happy. I didn't know why I was happy, either. This little girl...

"Holly," I blurted out. What did I just say?

She turned around, "how do you know my name?" she asked with a confused look. Dyten looked a little scared, too. I didn't know what I had done, or how I had known. I just knew.

Dyten asked her to go to her bedroom, and said he'd be there in a little. They had some things to talk about.

"Okay, daddy! I love you. Can we go see a movie together tomorrow? I miss watching movies," she said, smiling. He smiled back, and nodded.

When she had gone upstairs, he looked at me.

"That's our daughter, Tara. How did you remember her name? You didn't remember mine..."

I mumbled some gibberish at him. He sighed.

"I forgot you couldn't speak. Come upstairs then, I'll show you where to sleep."

Dyten knocked on Holly's bedroom door, and slowly opened it.

"Hi daddy!" Holly said excitedly. She was holding her teddy bear.

He swept her into a hug again. "Come sit with me, we have some important things to talk about."

As he pulled her onto his lap on her couch, she said, "is it about that lady?"

"Yes, sweetie."

He smiled as he though of how happy his daughter always made him. She smiled back.

"Holly, do you know how awhile ago I told you how your mother was gone, and that I didn't know if she was coming back?"

Wide-eyed, Holly nodded.

"That woman, Tara, is your mother."
